What does a paver pool deck cost in Nokomis?
For a 600-square-foot deck, count on roughly $7,800 to $9,600 if the field is concrete pavers ($13 to $16 a square foot) and $12,000 to $15,600 in travertine ($20 to $26), with coping and a drain added on top. East of I-75 the builder deck under the cage is usually sound enough to take pavers over it; in Sorrento East and Calusa Lakes the 1970s deck usually comes out first.

What's different about pool decks in Nokomis & Laurel
Two jobs with the same name. East of I-75, a 2016-to-2024 builder deck under a cage passes the five overlay tests and gets travertine or a light paver thin-set or sand-set over it with a perimeter curb and a drain cut in where the cage ponds; the ARC reviews the material. West of the interstate, a 1970s deck in Sorrento East, Sorrento South or Calusa Lakes was poured tight to the shell with no isolation joint and gets demolished, based, drained and re-laid. Chlorine pools dominate both; Nokomis Beach lots on salt pools get the annual coping rule.

ARC approval two weeks; no county permit for the overlay. Planning range: $13,500 to $17,500.
Do the new communities require a permit for a deck overlay?
The county usually doesn't for an overlay on the same footprint; the community's ARC always does. Submit the material sample, the drain detail and a photo of the cage line.
